At approximately 7:49pm, Clinch Valley Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire.

Upon arrival, there was heavy smoke coming from the residence with flames visible. The 2 person crew was able to deploy an attack line and get the fire knocked down and contained until further help arrived.

With the arrival of additional manpower, we were able ensure the fire was out, complete overhaul and provide ventilation.

No injuries were reported and the structure was saved. As always, thank you to our members and mutual aid for always showing up and for your hard work and dedication.

Countless hours of hard work were put in this past week by our Chief, Assistant Chief, Lieutenant and Safety Officer to cleanup, buff out and put stickers on Clinch Valley’s new tanker. Thank you guys for all your hard work, we’re so lucky to have such a great team!

Today, we pause to recognize and honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of our firefighters in Hawkins County on International Firefighters’ Day.

Your commitment to protecting life and property is not just a job, it is a calling. It is answered with courage in the face of chaos, strength in moments of exhaustion, and compassion in the aftermath of tragedy.

To all firefighters: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your heart for the communities you protect every day throughout Hawkins County.

At approximately 4:00pm Clinch Valley Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to structure fire. Upon arrival there a fully involved barn with flames and heavy black smoke, crews ran two attack lines and got it knocked down as well as spot fires that had started in the surrounding fields. No injuries were reported.

Our newest trucks were there to prove why we made the long trip to pick them up, being used yet again in the short time that we have had them. In all we used about 11,000 gallons of water to extinguish this fire.
