On top of cave rescue training today members of Clinch Valley responded to 2 separate Motor Vehicle Crashes with injuries throughout the day alongside multiple other agencies.. patients were provided initial medical care from our first response members who then forwarded critical information to the responding med units. Patients were then given additional care and stabilization provided by Hawkins County Emergency Medical Services who then transported to a nearby Landing Zone and were flown by Highlands Emergency Air Rescue & Transport and Covenant Health of East Tennessee. We want to thank Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department , Striggersville Volunteer Fire Department , Hawkins County Rescue Squad , Hawkins County Sheriff's Office , Hawkins County E-911 for your professionalism and fast response! Thank you for caring for our community!

Today's work detail was truck cleaning day!! Members took great pride in washing and polishing of the engines, and performed apparatus and equipment checks. The weather shaped up nicely and we snapped a few pictures of the updated fleet.
From left to right:
Tanker 1304: 1995 Ford E-ONE 2500 gallon tanker donated by New England Fire Equipment & Apparatus Corporation and was recently outfitted with a 2500 gallon collapsible pond received through the Tennessee Department of Forestry grant!
Utility 13: 2008 GMC Yukon XL 4x4, First Response/Fire/ Emergency. Outfitted with fire fighting equipment, leaf blower, chainsaws, auto extrication tools and equipment, AED and medical equipment.
Engine 1305: 1993 Quality body Spartan with 750gallon tank, 1250gpm pump and deck gun generously donated by South Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Company through the Americas First Responder Foundation after receiving a thorough overhaul at Campbell Supply
Engine 1306: Our First Due engine,1998 KME 1000gallon tank and 1250gpm pump, this truck was meticulously cared for and graciously donated by our friends at East Freehold Fire Company out of NJ through the First Responder Foundation of America.
Brush/Rescue Truck 1302: 1995 3D body Ford F-Super Duty 7.3 Diesel 4x4. Outfitted with 12K lb winch, 250gpm pump and 300gallon tank with foam induction and booster reel. Cabinet storage is outfitted with forestry tools, nozzels and hose line. Hand tools, Medical equipment and Crash equipment. This truck also contains a full set of Amukus hydraulic auto extrication tools generously donated by our friends at Parrottsville Volunteer Fire Department !
Engine 1303: 2004 Freightliner by Bluegrass Apparatus. 1000gallon tank and 1250gpm pump with deck gun. The single cab body makes this truck ideal for tight and hard to maneuver areas.
Command 13: Chief Vehicle/FirstResponse, Fire/Emergency, 2004 Ford Expedition. This truck is outfitted with DMR radio for monitoring EMS/First Response calls. Medical supplies, AED, Air packs (SCBA) for firefighting, chainsaws, rope rescue and Firefighting equipment and gear.

Car13/FR13: 2008 Ford Crown Victoria donated by Hawkins County Sheriff's Office for First Response medical calls, also outfitted with DMR radio, medical equipment, AED, Firefighter gear and extinguishers, chainsaw.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Highlands Emergency Air Rescue, Covenant Air Med, and UT Lifestar for putting on a very informative and fun night of county wide LZ training for Emergency Responders!!! Members were able to spend time with the crews, ask and answer important questions regarding radio traffic, landing zone preparation and expectations, patient loading and relaying important information. Very educational training with various agencies in attendance! Having a good understanding of each other's jobs and capabilities helps everyone to provide the best service for our community!
