Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Taxpayers' Federation of Illinois Annual Meeting and hear updates on our state's economy, tax policy, and fiscal outlook.

There were some great discussions about the challenges facing Illinois taxpayers, including ongoing legal questions surrounding several proposed tax increases. These conversations are a good reminder that taxpayers deserve transparency, accountability, and certainty from their state government.

I appreciated the opportunity to learn from policy experts and connect with colleagues who are committed to keeping Illinois on a better path forward.

On my way to Chicago last week for meetings, I had the opportunity to stop in Springfield and attend the 98th Annual Illinois Association FFA State Convention.

Congratulations to the Edwardsville FFA Chapter on earning Silver Chapter Honors this year, and to all the students and chapters from across Illinois who participated in this incredible event. FFA continues to develop the next generation of leaders, and it was great to see so many young people showcasing their hard work.

This morning, I had the honor of attending the Community Prayer Breakfast hosted by the Ninian Edwards Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in Alton as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

It was a wonderful opportunity to join fellow community members in prayer and reflection on the values that have guided our nation for nearly 250 years. 🇺🇸
