Eden Police Department "Putting Our Community First" The City of Eden Police Department is comprised of 46 full-time sworn officers and 4 reserve officers.

We employ 1 records clerk, 1 administrative secretary, and 1 detective secretary. We also employ 1 full-time humane officer and 1 part-time humane officer. We are committed to provide the citizens of Eden the best police service possible. We accomplish this by continuously encouraging the officers to upgrade their skills on a regular basis. Along with an excellent patrol division, we provide a highly trained and experienced investigations unit which includes narcotics investigations.

On September 2, 2026, following a lengthy investigation, the Eden Police Department executed a narcotics related search warrant at 928 Harris Street.

As a result of the search warrants, Eden Police Department Narcotics Detectives secured warrants on 59-year-old Curtis Eugene Terry for the following:

• Possession of a Fi***rm by Felon (Felony)
• Possession of Sch I (Felony)
• Possession of Co***ne (Felony)
• PWISD Co***ne (Felony)
• Expose a Child Control Substance x2 (Felony)
• Sell/Deliver 1,000ft of a Park (Felony)
• Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling CS (Felony)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misd)

Additionally, Eden Police Department Narcotics Detectives secured warrants for 32-year-old Darrell Antwon Wilson for the following:

• Expose a Child Control Substance x2 (Felony)
• Child Abuse x2 (Misd)
• Possession of Ma*****na (Misd)
• Possession of Ma*****na Paraphernalia (Misd)

Curtis Terry is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on September 10, 2026.

Darrell Wilson received a $60,000 secure bond and is also scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on September 10, 2026.

The City of Eden is proud to recognize the retirement of two veteran police officers who have dedicated nearly three decades each to serving and protecting our community.

Sergeant Jim Robertson is retiring after 29 years of dedicated service with the Eden Police Department. Most recently, Sgt. Robertson served as the Administrative Sergeant, where he supervised and coordinated the department’s School Resource Officers. Throughout his career, he also served as a certified D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) and G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) instructor, making a lasting impact on countless students in our community.

Prior to his assignment as Administrative Sergeant, Sgt. Robertson served as a patrol officer and as a Business District Officer.
Officer Jay Parker is also retiring after 28 years of dedicated service to the City of Eden. Most recently, Officer Parker served as the School Resource Officer at Holmes Middle School. During his time as an SRO, he was a certified G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) and D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) instructor.

Before becoming a School Resource Officer, Officer Parker served on patrol for more than 20 years. During his patrol career, he also served as a K-9 handler.

Both Sgt. Robertson and Officer Parker have devoted the majority of their careers to serving the citizens of Eden and helping make our community a safer place. Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to the Eden Police Department will leave a lasting impact.

As they begin this new chapter, both officers look forward to spending more time with their families and pursuing new opportunities in retirement.

On August 27th, 2026, at approximately 6:24pm The Eden Police Department responded to Walmart for a call of shots fired in the parking lot. At 6:30pm The Eden Police Department received a call of a gunshot victim at UNC Rockingham. Officers arrived at both locations and determined the incidents were connected. Investigators were notified and responded to both locations. During the investigation, officers were able to identify Tahj Jaquan Thomas as a suspect of the shooting incident.

After a thorough investigation and consultation with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s office, an arrest warrant was issued for Tahj Jaquan Thomas. Thomas was apprehended without incident on Friday morning, August 28, 2026. Thomas is charged with, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill causing serious bodily injury.

Thomas was transported to the Rockingham County Jail where he is being held without bond. Tahj Thomas is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on September 8th, 2026, at 9:00am. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information will be released.

The victim in this case was transported to an area hospital and is currently in stable but critical condition. The victim’s identification will not be released at this time.

On Monday, August 10, 2026, the Eden Police Department received a report regarding a fifteen (15)-year-old juvenile who had been reported missing from Ripley, West Virginia.

The Eden Police Department immediately began working in coordination with the Ripley Police Department in West Virginia to assist in locating the missing juvenile. Through continued communication, investigative efforts, and information-sharing between the two agencies, officers developed information regarding a possible location of the juvenile within the City of Eden.

Eden Police Department patrol officers responded to the identified location and successfully located the missing juvenile.

Following a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, Detective Brock Fox secured warrants for the arrest of 21-year-old Jaramia Joseph Dixon on the following charges:

• 1 Count: Statutory R**e of a child who is 15 years of age or younger (Felony)

Jaramia Dixon is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on August 17, 2026.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released.

On August 6, 2026, members of the Eden Police Department's Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 741 Spring Street in Eden as part of an extensive and ongoing narcotics investigation.

As a result of the search warrant, Valerie Gibson Mahmood, 35, of 741 Spring Street, Eden, was arrested on numerous narcotics related charges.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or arrests may be forthcoming.

The Eden Police Department remains committed to proactively investigating illegal drug activity and working to improve the safety and quality of life for the citizens of Eden.

Mahmood was charged as follows:

• Expose Child to a Controlled Substance x2 (Felony)
• Trafficking in Fentanyl (Felony)
• Trafficking in Methamphetamine (Felony)
• Maintain a Dwelling for the Sale of a CS (Felony)
• PWIMSD Schedule I (Felony)
• PWIMSD Methamphetamine (Felony)
• Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)
• Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor)

Mahmood was transported to the Rockingham County Magistrate's Office, where she was issued a $100,000 secured bond. She is scheduled to appear in Wentworth District Court on August 18, 2026.
