Our Dinah Gore cooking competition team went to the Culinary Institute at Wilkes Community College today to learn some new skills. They learned to make ravioli, homemade pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese, chocolate ice cream sandwich cookies, blackberry sorbet, and Italian lemonade. It was all delicious! We are so appreciative to Chef Celina and Chef Hayden for being so welcoming and inviting us to join them to learn some new skills! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳🍕🍋

We went back to Crisanthemum Studios today and were able to watch a pottery throwing demonstration. Then, the participants were able to choose their colors and glaze their bobble heads they made last week. After one more round in the kiln, they will be ready. We are excited to see the finished products!

Day 2 of our Summer Sweets & Treats camp featured everything red, white & blue! We tried our hand at the viral dot cakes, made patriotic popcorn, used fresh strawberries and blueberries to make some strawberry cheesecake bites, and made a red, Sprite & blue party drink to top it off. Our participants are ready to entertain their families and friends for their 4th of July parties and cookouts! 🇺🇸

Today our Summer Fun adventures took us to Crisanthemum Studios in Pilot Mountain. Each participant was able to sculpt their own bobble head from clay. They will be fired in the kiln, and we will go back next week to glaze them. We loved seeing everyone’s creativity, and are excited to see the finished products!

We had so much fun on our trip to the Greensboro Science Center! Everyone enjoyed seeing the variety of animals in the aquarium and zoo. The participants’ favorite part was getting to touch the stingrays and sharks in the touch tank! 🦈🐠🐡🪼🐙🐅🦛🦩🦦🦥

We still have 5 spaces available for this program next week! We will be going to Crisanthemum Studios in Pilot Mountain to create our own bobble heads! On Friday, June 12th participants will use their creativity to sculpt their own bobble head with instruction from a professional. They will then be fired in the kiln. We will return on Friday, June 19th for them to glaze their bobble heads. Transportation will be provided from the 4-H Office in Dobson, or you may meet us at Crisanthemum Studios.
