The sun was shining bright in Southfield, Michigan, on a day filled with gratitude, remembrance, and a renewed commitment to the health of the families we serve.
On October 23, our community came together for the grand reopening and ribbon cutting of Authority Health Center Family Medicine Practice, Dr. Ira Land location, at Stevenson Elementary School.
“Delays are not denials,” shared Loretta V. Bush. Those words captured the perseverance behind this celebration and the partnerships that helped make it possible.
The day was a reminder of how much we can do together to help children stay healthy, learn, and thrive while supporting the families around them. Sharing this celebration with the Land family made it especially meaningful as we honored a life devoted to caring for others and a legacy that continues to serve this community.
We extend our appreciation to Loretta V. Bush, CEO of Authority Health and Authority Health Center; Tyra Evans, Chief Operating Officer; Dr. Jennifer Martin-Green; Superintendent of the Southfield Public School District; Principal Tonya Hickman of Stevenson Elementary School; and Detroit City Council President Councilman James Tate
Thank you to the Authority Health and Authority Health Center board members in attendance, the United Way for Southeastern Michigan team members, and everyone who came to share this milestone with us.
We are especially grateful for our AHC - Ira Land staff—Brandi Lagodzinski, Clinical Practice Manager; Christina Kirkwood, FNP, Family Nurse Practitioner; and Destini Howard, Medical Assistant. Their commitment brings this beautiful space to life through the care they provide.
The ribbon is cut. The care continues.
