📣Alright y’all, it’s time to address the elephant (shipping container) in the room (river).📣You guys really loved the presence of this rarely seen species, but it’s just not meant for an aquatic habitat. The folks who lost it collected it and it was returned to the wild. However, its grown fond of MetroParks, but haven’t we all?

Passport to MetroParks is tomorrow at RiverScape MetroPark, from 6 to 9 p.m.! Typically, we host the Ohio Department of Natural Resources near the location where the shipping container was, but there will be a plan B for their location in case it’s too muddy. We’ll see you all tomorrow to officially kick of summer in your MetroParks – free and for all ages! Learn more at metroparks.org/passport.

Pavement party at Five Rivers MetroParks starting June 1!

What to expect: Multiple projects in eight different MetroParks are scheduled in June and July (provisional rain dates planned). Certain areas will be closed on weekdays, but open on weekends to help minimize disruption. Parks will remain open and accessible on weekends.

“Five Rivers MetroParks is committed to maintaining safe, accessible roads, lots and trails,” said Five Rivers MetroParks Construction Manager Johnathan Eubanks. “This work is supported by the levy passed by the public in 2024 and reflects MetroParks’ continuing commitment to deliver on important repairs that are of great importance to the public.”

This Friday is the big day! Passport to MetroParks kicks off at 6 p.m. at RiverScape MetroPark and we'll spend the entire evening welcoming summer and all the opportunities there are to explore your Five Rivers MetroParks. This event is free and for all ages.

How do the passports work? Grab your passport upon arrival and visit a variety of stations to collect stamps. Collect at least one stamp in each category for your chance to win prizes, including a Stand Up Paddleboard package, horse trails rides, kids adventure package and more! Once your passport is completed, take it to the drop off destination at our rentals office and select the prize you're most interested in winning.
