HCOC is one of the largest vocational training and support service providers in Southeastern, PA. The ADLC is a fully-supervised, licensed day program.

Established in 1961, our mission is to provide individuals with disabilities vocational job training, community socialization, and the support they need to achieve their competitive employment goals. 📦 We achieve our goals due to active partnerships with local employers as well as manufacturing contracts with companies all over the world. We support and work alongside our participants who have special needs. We serve individuals with various intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities, persons with mental health diagnoses, and veterans. We also have an Adult Daily Living Center (ADLC) for adults with disabilities or who have retired from the HC Opportunity Center. Activities are planned every day, and each participant can enhance their well-being and overall quality of life as they participate. Perfect for respite care during the day.

Handi-Crafters is proud to partner with our friends at Manucurist, a sustainable and eco-friendly beauty brand based in Paris, France, for the release of their NEW Manucurist Amazon kits! 💅

This exciting project, led by Handi-Crafters Supervisor Terri Zydinsky, was packaged with precision and pride from start to finish by our hardworking team! 📦

From building boxes to putting on the final seal, each member of our crew brought incredible dedication and attention-to-detail to each and every step of the production process.

Handi-Crafters is proud to recognize our partnership with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR).

United by our mission of empowering individuals to reach their greatest potential through meaningful employment opportunities, Handi-Crafters & our Employment Specialists partner with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to serve 80 individuals in our region!

Through relationship building, skill development, interview preparation, goal setting, and continuous job coaching support after employment is secured, our Employment Specialists use a person-centered approach to not only help individuals gain competitive integrated employment—but grow and thrive in their roles!

Our organization is proud to team up with OVR and our trusted employment partners to inspire hardworking individuals here in Chester County, PA.

In the month of October, we are honored to recognize our weekly volunteer Maria for all her contributions to our organization!

Maria began volunteering with us back in 2025 and serves as a valued member of the team here at Handi-Crafters!

Maria enjoys working on a variety of projects on the production floor, especially packaging Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty! What makes volunteering at Handi-Crafters even more special for her is the opportunity to work alongside her daughter, Rachel! ❤️

"Handi-Crafters is a lifeline, and it makes a big difference," said Maria. "I believe it's the happiest place in the world."

This past spring, Maria also served as an instrumental member of the 65th Anniversary Gala committee—helping us bring this historic fundraising event to life!

On September 22, 2026, Handi-Crafters had the great privilege of welcoming Senator Carolyn Comitta to our organization for a purpose-driven afternoon of community and impact!

Joined by her Chief of Staff, Michael Hartman, HC Board President Denny Howell, Board Member Jeanne Spatola, and organization leadership, Senator Comitta spent the afternoon revisiting our campus, engaging in meaningful conversations with our staff and program participants, and witnessing all the inspiring work happening here in Chester County, PA.

On this day, our organization had the honor of celebrating a meaningful financial investment—state funding secured by Senator Comitta for Handi-Crafters! This incredible investment will allow us to strengthen the foundation of our organization, modernize our facilities, and help us continue to connect communities and craft opportunities for years to come! 📦
