Happy Donut Day – Today, Friday, June 5th is National Donut Day.!

Established in 1938, Donut Day traces its origins to World War I. As the story goes, Salvation Army volunteers would bring donuts to the front-line troops, as they were easy to prepare during the dire circumstances of the battlefield...And yes, we beat you to the punch. 👊🏼👍🍩

The "Paul Miller’s Law" will Take Full Effect on Friday, June 5, 2026!

📱🛑 EYES UP, PHONES DOWN:
Starting Friday, June 5, 2026, the grace period for Pennsylvania’s hands-free law—Paul Miller’s Law—officially ends and Fines Begin.

For the past year, officers have been issuing educational written warnings. Beginning June 5th, drivers caught holding an interactive mobile device while operating a vehicle will face active citations and a base fine of $50, which can total nearly $200.

Distracted driving is a primary offense. Our officers can pull you over solely for having a phone in your hand.

This law is named in honor of Paul Miller Jr., who was tragically killed by a distracted driver in 2010. Let's honor his legacy, protect our community, and keep our roads safe.

Here is what you NEED TO KNOW to stay safe and fine-free:

❌ WHAT IS BANNED?
-Holding or supporting a phone, tablet, or smart device with any part of your body.
-Texting, scrolling, emailing, typing, or browsing social media.
-Watching or recording videos.
-Handling your device while stopped at a red light, stop sign, or sitting in traffic.
✅ WHAT IS ALLOWED?
-Hands-free technology like Bluetooth, voice commands, or built-in vehicle systems.
-Using GPS navigation, provided the device is securely mounted to the vehicle.
-Single-button presses to answer or end a call, as long as you do not hold the phone.
-Emergency calls to 911 or emergency services to protect life or property.

Stay Safe on the Road and put the phones away—the text can wait! 📵🚘
