In sixth grade geography, students are learning about map projections. They created maps, drew them on oranges and tried to lay them flat. Through this, they are learning about how maps can be inaccurate when showing large areas. 🌎

Fifth Grade Tiger Crew students are proud to once again participate in a very special project honoring the brave men and women who served our country.

This year, our Tiger Crew students will be selling wreaths for Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Each wreath is $17.00, and every wreath purchased helps ensure that a service member laid to rest at Fort Gibson National Cemetery is remembered and honored with a beautiful wreath placed at their gravesite.

This project is especially meaningful to our students because they are not simply raising money—they are taking an active role in honoring our nation’s heroes. Tiger Crew students will attend the wreath-laying ceremony and personally place wreaths on the graves of the servicemen and women who sacrificed so much for our country.

We would greatly appreciate your support in helping us honor as many veterans as possible. Every wreath purchased represents a life remembered, a sacrifice honored, and an important lesson for our students about gratitude, service, and respect.

Wreaths are $17.00 each. Please consider purchasing one—or more—to help us make sure these American heroes are remembered and honored. Click on the link to purchase today through November 30, 2026. Tiger Crew Wreaths

Remember. Honor. Teach.

Mrs. Tunin has been getting creative in the Primary Library, bringing some of our favorite stories to life through hands-on activities! 🎨📖

🌴 Pre-K students made coconut tree hats featuring alphabet letters inspired by Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.

⭕ Kindergarten students created colorful spinning tops after reading Round Is a Tortilla: A Book of Shapes by Roseanne Thong.

🎨 1st Grade students designed their own unique characters inspired by Pezzettino by Leo Lionni.

⬛ 2nd Grade students recreated a square after reading The Perfect Square by Michael Hall.

We love seeing our students use their creativity, imagination, and love of reading to turn great stories into memorable learning experiences! ❤️💛📚

Mrs Turners 6the grade classes participated in a library scavenger hunt, locating different books by using all the sections of the CMS library. Then they took the books they found and created a unique poem using only the book spines. “Book Spine Poetry”.
