The Cisco Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) works to promote sustainable economic growth, attract new investment, and support existing businesses in Cisco, Texas. Cisco is a historic and welcoming community in Eastland County with strong regional connectivity, a revitalizing downtown, and opportunities for business growth across retail, manufacturing, tourism, and small business development.
Position Overview
The Executive Director serves as the chief administrative officer of the Cisco Economic Development Corporation and is responsible for implementing strategies that expand the local economy, attract new businesses, and support the retention and expansion of existing industries. The Director works closely with the CEDC Board of Directors, City leadership, community stakeholders, and regional partners to promote economic opportunity and investment in Cisco.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and implement the economic development strategy for the Cisco Economic Development Corporation.
• Recruit new businesses and investment opportunities to Cisco.
• Support retention and expansion efforts for existing local businesses and industries.
• Develop and manage marketing initiatives promoting Cisco as a destination for business and tourism.
• Administer EDC programs, incentives, and development agreements in compliance with Texas economic development laws.
• Prepare and manage the CEDC annual budget and financial reporting.
• Work closely with the CEDC Board of Directors, the City of Cisco, and community partners.
• Build relationships with site selectors, developers, real estate professionals, and regional economic development organizations.
• Represent Cisco at economic development events, conferences, and meetings.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the Board and City leadership.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in economic development, business administration, public administration, urban planning, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in economic development, business development, public administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Texas economic development tools and programs (including Type A or Type B EDCs, incentives, grants, and partnerships).
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with boards, government officials, and private-sector partners preferred.
• Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) or willingness to pursue certification is a plus.
