🔥 STRUCTURE FIRE UPDATE 🔥

The Cisco Fire Department is currently working a structure fire in the 600 block of Harris Street.

The fire is under control at this time. Fire crews remain on scene conducting overhaul and checking for any remaining hot spots.

Please avoid the area and allow emergency personnel room to work safely.

Fredonia, New York - A single firefighter was forced to respond alone to an intentionally set fire at an occupied apartment building after the department’s other two on duty career firefighters were already committed to an EMS call. The lone firefighter responded with an engine while police officers helped remove two children from the building. An assistant chief, volunteer firefighters and mutual aid from neighboring Dunkirk later arrived to assist. With the extra resources, crews were able to contain the fire before it spread further into the occupied building. Luckily, no injuries were reported but the incident has drawn attention to Fredonia’s staffing levels as well as ANY other fire department that deal with similar circumstances.

🚒 CISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT – NEW BRUSH TRUCK COMING DECEMBER 2026 🚒

The Cisco Fire Department is pleased to announce that we are scheduled to take delivery of a new 2026 Brush Truck in December 2026.

This new apparatus will replace our 2003 Ford F-550 brush truck, which has served the department and our community for more than two decades. After years of responding to grass fires, wildland fires, vehicle fires, and other emergencies throughout our response area, the current truck has reached the end of its reliable service life and is completely worn out.

Replacing this apparatus is necessary to ensure that the Cisco Fire Department can continue to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient emergency response capabilities for the citizens we serve.

Unfortunately, the cost of fire apparatus and specialized emergency equipment has risen significantly in recent years. The total cost of the new brush truck is $282,000. While this is a substantial investment, continuing to depend on an aging and increasingly unreliable apparatus is no longer a practical option.

This new brush truck will provide our firefighters with a modern, dependable apparatus designed to meet the demands of wildland and emergency response throughout Cisco and our surrounding fire response area in Eastland County.

🚒 COMMUNITY SUPPORT & DONATIONS NEEDED 🚒

With the significant cost of this new apparatus, the Cisco Fire Department is asking our community, local businesses, landowners, ranchers, farmers, and supporters to consider making a donation toward the purchase of the new brush truck.

Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help reduce the financial burden of this purchase and directly support the equipment our firefighters depend on to protect lives and property.

For those who live outside the Cisco city limits but within our fire response area, this truck is especially important. Our firefighters routinely respond to grass fires, wildland fires, structure fires, vehicle accidents, and other emergencies throughout the rural areas surrounding Cisco.

The 2003 Ford F-550 has served our department well, but after more than 20 years of service, it has earned its retirement. Now we are asking for the community's help as we prepare the next generation of equipment to serve Cisco and our surrounding response area.
