Cisco College Libraries Our mission-support student success by teaching research skills that will enable students to access, Mr.

The Maner Memorial Library on the Cisco College campus is named for Mr. Leon Maner, a former member of the board of regents who was in office when the new library was dedicated on February 4, 1971. Maner not only donated the funds needed to complete the building but also donated his personal library of West Texas History and Memorabilia that became the core of the Texas Collection. Our other locat

ion at the Abilene Education Center is in the Dodge Jones Wing of the building. The library consists of two rooms, a reference room and virtual library, and have been made possible by the generous support of the Dodge Jones Foundation and the O'Donnell Foundation.

We had a wonderful turn out yesterday for our Veterans Day luncheon. Pictured here are 2 of the 79 veterans in attendance.

We had a veteran who attended give us some much appreciated feedback, “I wanted to thank you for the lunch today. As a veteran, I appreciate the acknowledgement but I specifically wanted to say that it was very nice.”

Thank you again to those who were in attendance!

Zac Mazey, left, Security Director at Cisco College, and Andy Marlow of Gorman were two of many veterans who attended a luncheon at Maner Memorial Library on Veterans Day, Tuesday, at the Cisco campus. Marlowe served in the U.S. Navy with duty on the West Coast and Hawaii. Mazey was a United States Marine who fought global terrorism in expeditions all over the world. Cisco College salutes all veterans for their service to our country.

Day of the Dead, or Dia de Los Mu***os, is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1st and 2nd to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died. It is a celebration of life and death, not one of mourning.

Columbus Day honors Christopher Columbus' arrival to the Americas in 1492.

Indigenous Peoples' Day is a day to celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Indigenous peoples.
