Chickasha Animal Welfare is Chickasha’s municipal animal shelter, caring for adoptable pets, strays, and enforcing city animal laws.

We offer spay & neuter programs, pet licensing, and community education. Volunteers and fosters are always welcome to help Chickasha Animal Welfare Information

Adoption Information:
Adoption Fee: $45.00 (includes spay/neuter, microchipping, and vaccinations)
Surrender Fee: $55.00
City Licenses: $5.00 Altered pets, $10.00 Unaltered Pets (Rabies certificate is required when purchasing a City License)

Chickasha Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Our team is dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of animals in our community. In addition to providing a safe and caring environment for adoptable animals, we are responsible for enforcing all animal-related laws within the City of Chickasha and for holding and caring for stray animals that are found within city limits. Beyond these core responsibilities, we also work to support responsible pet ownership through a variety of community services. These include a public spay and neuter program in partnership with OkHumane, city pet licensing, and educational outreach to help residents better care for their animals. Chickasha Animal Welfare operates daily with a very limited staff who are supported by several incredible volunteers. We maintain an active foster program and are always looking to partner with compassionate community members who want to assist in our mission of helping animals in need. Volunteers are welcome seven days a week after submitting a volunteer application, and we encourage anyone interested in making a difference in the lives of animals to get involved.

Trigger is full of energy, personality, and excitement. He’s ready to trade his kennel for a cozy home, new experiences, and a whole lot of fun!

You don’t have to adopt or commit to long-term fostering. Just open your home for ONE weekend and give this boy a much-needed break from shelter life.

* Come meet him TODAY at Chickasha Animal Welfare.
* Sign up to be his weekend foster.
* Pick him up today between 1:00–4:00 PM.
* Bring him back Monday between 1:00–5:00 PM.

ADOPTED! Lady’s happily-ever-after is here!

Lady has officially found her forever family, and we couldn’t be happier for this sweet girl! Every dog deserves a place to call home, a family to love them, and a couch to claim as their own.

A huge thank-you to Alissa and Boston for opening their hearts and home to Lady while she waited for her forever. Fosters are such a big part of making these happy endings possible, and we are so grateful for you both!

Happy life, Lady! We hope your days are filled with endless love, adventures, and all the happiness you deserve! ♥️

Our Slumber Party Weekend program is all about giving shelter dogs a little break from kennel life. A cozy couch, a soft bed, some extra attention, and the chance to simply be someone’s dog for a few days.

And the best part? You don’t have to commit to long-term fostering! Just one weekend can make a difference.

While Briar enjoys her little getaway, you’ll help us learn more about her personality, favorite things, habits, and what kind of home would make her happiest. Those little details can help us find her forever family!

Jasmine has a kennel to sleep in, but what she’d really love is a couch to curl up on. She has shelter staff who care about her, but this weekend we’d love for her to know what it feels like to be someone’s special girl.

We wish every dog could understand that their time in the shelter is temporary. That somewhere out there is a family, a soft bed, and a person who will fall in love with everything that makes them special.

Until that day comes, we want to give Jasmine a little taste of that life. 🏡💕

We’re urgently looking for someone to open their home to Jasmine for Slumber Party Weekend.

You don’t have to make a lifelong commitment. You don’t have to change your whole schedule. You just have to be willing to give her a weekend.
