Pakistan 🇵🇰Featured at Chicago Public Schools Exhibition Celebrating AAPI Communities in Chicago

The Consulate General of Pakistan, Chicago participated in the opening of the exhibition “Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Communities in Chicago,” organized by the Office of Multilingual and Multicultural Education (OMME), Chicago Public Schools, on 07 May 2026 at the OMME Center in Chicago.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Macquline King, Superintendent/CEO of Chicago Public Schools. It celebrated the rich heritage, traditions, and contributions of AAPI communities in Chicago and within the Chicago Public Schools system.

Pakistan was represented through a cultural display featuring traditional crafts, textiles, cultural products, and Pakistani henna art, offering visitors a glimpse into the country’s vibrant traditions and civilizational heritage.

Consul General Zaman Mehdi attended the inaugural ceremony and noted that children from the Pakistani diaspora are actively represented in Chicago Public Schools and continue to enrich the city’s diverse educational and cultural landscape. He commended OMME and Chicago Public Schools for this meaningful initiative to promote multicultural learning, diversity, and people-to-people connections across Chicago’s communities.
