Today is very exciting for soccer fans around the world. As people put on their nation’s team scarves and get ready to cheer, the Consulate General celebrated early in Kansas City, Missouri, the only FIFA World Cup 2026™ host city in the U.S. Midwest. Last week, Consul General Féquière and team held Canada Week in the KC area, meeting with business, civic, and government leaders including Mayor Quinton Lucas and were honoured to have Jackson County, Missouri declare June 4 as Canada Day.
The Consulate General seized this opportunity to highlight the vital importance of the Canada-U.S. relationship for commerce, trade, security, defence, and people-to-people relationships. Our countries are connected in ways too numerous to count and our prosperity is because of each other, not in spite of one another. The visit culminated with a networking event with our great partners at CPKC Stadium, named for the railway that connects all three FIFA World Cup host countries and USMCA partners.
A big thank you to INDOCHINO , the Alberta Midwest Office, the Ontario Government Office in Chicago, and LeMonde Studio for their collaboration on this event.
