Since Monday, hundreds of people have stood in solidarity with Manolo’s Bakery, a well known Hispanic bakery in East Charlotte, which was forcibly closed by the Border Patrol’s occupation.

This Friday, thousands of Charlotteans will be shutting down the city because we know that this city cannot run without immigrants!

Here’s how you can help:

1) SPREAD THE WORD AND CREATE AS MUCH BUZZ AS POSSIBLE:

Post the graphic to your page and say why you’re joining the shutdown!

Send the graphic to friends, family, & coworkers and encourage them to also post.

Ask businesses to put up posters and join the shutdown.

ICE ICE OUT OF HOME DEPOT!

Home depot is meant to be a place of business for customers and workers. Not a place that allows for ICE and Border Patrol to sweep through detaining immigrants.

On November 16, Greg Bovino and his racist thugs were spotted at Home Depot on North Wendover. A group of community members delivered a letter to the manager demanding to publicly condemn ICE raids and detentions taking place on or near their premises.

FRI, NOV 21: SHUT DOWN CHARLOTTE FOR IMMIGRANT RIGHTS! Border Patrol and ICE are terrorizing Charlotte—already, hundreds of people have been detained and brutalized, entire immigrant communities have shut down, tens of thousands of children are too scared to go to class, and our economy is grinding to a halt.

We must all unite—we cannot let immigrant workers be terrorized and isolated. We know immigrants and workers make this city run. We can shut it down and demand what’s right: ICE and Border Patrol out of our city!

We need to shut down business as usual, and demonstrate that the people of Charlotte stand with our immigrant neighbors!
