Are any jobs “AI proof?”

Yesterday we returned to Southminster, as Echo interns Eva Hennaux and Zach Kahn met with residents to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming our economy.

Listen as they discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on the job market—and what it means for the next generation of workers.

We want to hear from you— Do you think AI will affect what careers this generation of college students choose to pursue? Are you surprised by any of the jobs on this list?

You can check out their full curriculum, AI for Humanity, on our website! Link in bio!

“He was like a candle that ignited a small flame in each of us…”

Justine was one of 1,000 students who participated in Echo’s very first Student Dialogue with Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, our co-founder and one of the world’s most powerful voices of conscience.

That moment helped shape Justine’s path. She later joined the Peace Corps in Malawi and now serves as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State.

Justine is a reminder of what one voice, one spark, can become.

What does being a voice of conscience mean to you? Let us know in the comments below.

"We've all been placed on this earth to make a difference. We are here, not for ourselves – but we are here for others.”
-Dr. Ophelia Garmon-Brown

In 2019, Dr. Ophelia Garmon-Brown joined Dena Diorio in a dialogue around the pressing issues of Charlotte’s social mobility.

That year, Charlotte ranked 50th out of 50 for economic mobility. This means that the chance for a child born in poverty in Charlotte to escape poverty was lower than any other large city in the US.

Dr. Garmon-Brown dedicated her life to providing opportunity and upward mobility among low-income people in Charlotte.

As of 2024, our beloved city has moved in rank to 38th. Together, we can continue to make a difference in our community.

Dr. Garmon-Brown’s smile in this photograph is a reflection of her strength and faith, and a reminder that where there is hope, there can be change.
