Steele Creek showed up in a BIG way.

Huge shoutout to the Steele Creek Dems for a successful school supply drive led by Precinct 230 Chair Susan Johnson. From notebooks and folders to backpacks and classroom essentials, this crew collected an impressive amount of supplies for local students and families.

Thank you to Rep. Terry Brown Jr., precinct officers, elected officials and community members who donated their time, supplies and energy to make it happen.

We love seeing our precincts out in the community, doing the work and showing some serious neighborly love. 💙

We’re excited to welcome California Governor Gavin Newsom to Charlotte on September 4 for a special fundraising reception benefiting MCDP’s 2026 Get Out the Vote efforts, alongside North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Anderson Clayton.

Election Day is getting closer, and MCDP is building the operation it takes to organize, mobilize and turn out Democratic voters across Mecklenburg County.

This fall, we have the opportunity to help send Roy Cooper to the U.S. Senate, re-elect Justice Anita Earls and our Democratic judges and flip key legislative seats right here in Mecklenburg County.

As the largest county Democratic Party in North Carolina, what we do in Mecklenburg matters. Every dollar raised helps strengthen our field operation and get more voters to the polls.

Join Governor Newsom, Chair Clayton and Mecklenburg County Democrats on September 4 as we gear up for a BIG fall.

SPOTTED: MCDP Officers at the Paint the Town Blue Gala last week.💙

MCDP officers were out supporting the Democratic Women of Mecklenburg County for an evening celebrating leadership, service and the women who have helped shape our community.

The night also honored Mayor Vi Lyles and her more than half a century of public service, a legacy that has left an undeniable mark on Charlotte.

Our First Vice Chair, Martina Ackeridge, helped create space this week for something democracy needs more of — honest conversation.

Through her work with our Black Precinct Chairs, Martina brought community members and elected officials into the same room to listen, ask questions and talk openly about the issues shaping our neighborhoods.

Civic engagement is more than what happens at the ballot box. It is built in rooms like this, through relationships, accountability and people willing to bring others to the table.

We’re grateful for Martina’s leadership and for everyone who showed up ready to be part of the conversation.
