Today is International Day of Charity, a day to celebrate the people and organizations that give their time, talents, and resources to make their communities stronger.

At the library, we’re lucky to see that spirit of generosity in action every day. From volunteers and Friends of the Library to partner organizations who help make programs and projects possible, so much of what we do happens because people care about our local community.

Want to make a difference close to home? Consider volunteering, supporting a local nonprofit, sharing your time or skills, or simply lending a helping hand when your community needs it.

Creating a Native Seed Library | Monday, September 14th | 4 - 6 pm

Craig Bruska from the Native Plant Society of Texas will give a presentation on creating and sustaining a free community seed library. Join us to learn how seed libraries work, why saving native and locally adapted seeds is important, and how Blanco County can become part of the growing seed-saver movement. Following the presentation, we will have a live Q&A session to answer questions and discuss how local community members and organizations can help build the inaugural collection.
