Blanco County ESD 2 Blanco County Emergency Services District (ESD) #2 is a political subdivision which provides Fire & EMS Services to southern Blanco County.

Blanco County ESD 2 is the sole 911 Fire & EMS Provider to our community with a transport time to the nearest hospital being 45 minutes.

It was a busy week! We had the opportunity to work with Travis County STAR Flight to co-host a special “Fireline & Hoist” training in Round Mountain, where responders not only from Blanco County but all over the region attended to work side by side with STAR Flight personnel and train together on every type of specialty rescue equipment as well as firefighting equipment and emergency procedures, better preparing everyone to work together on high risk/low frequency types of incidents. Clarification:

This afternoon, a photo was taken of one of our Community Paramedic vehicles at a pharmacy drive-thru in Bulverde, showing a passenger in the vehicle. The post suggested the vehicle was being used for personal purposes. We want to clarify the situation.

Our Community Paramedic program provides essential services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community—helping keep them safe, healthy, and out of the hospital. One of these services includes assisting patients with obtaining necessary prescription medications.

In this case, the Community Paramedic was waiting to pick up critically needed medication on behalf of a patient who was unable to do so themselves. The medication was being delivered directly to that patient in Blanco County.

The passenger in the vehicle is a Qualified Mental Health Professional and an integral part of our Community Paramedic team. They work alongside our paramedics to deliver mental health services in the field during times of crisis and assist with follow-up care.
