Perfect Attendance is impressive in any job, but it may be especially impressive for bus drivers. They beat the alarm clock, the weather, road construction, traffic, and a few unexpected adventures along the way—all while safely transporting our students each day.

🚧 Construction Update! 🚧

Things are moving right along at the new Pamlico County High School, and every week brings something new to see!

You may have noticed that the construction fence has migrated from the new school to the old school. The digital sign out front has been removed in preparation for demolition.

We know many of you are enjoying following the progress, so we've included a few photos from both sites. Descriptions are in the captions on the photos.

Our students deserve a facility that matches their potential, and we're excited to watch it come to life one step at a time.

A special piece of Pamlico County High School history has found a permanent home.

A pair of original 1951 doors from PCHS were recently donated to the Heritage Museum in Grantsboro. Over the years, the room behind these doors served many purposes, including a library, a traditional classroom, a typing classroom, and most recently a space for students participating in online learning.

These are also the doors signed by alumni during the Last Walk event. With nearly 1,000 signatures already covering them, the doors have become a lasting tribute to generations of Hurricanes who walked the halls of the original PCHS.

Present for the donation were Elizabeth Harwick, PIO for Pamlico County Schools, Dave Evans, Treasurer of the Historical Association, and Hazel Alcock, volunteer at the Heritage Museum.

If you attended the Last Walk but did not have the opportunity to sign the doors, you are welcome to visit the Heritage Museum and add your name to this unique piece of Pamlico County history.
