Happy Forensic Friday & Welcome Back to School! 🔬📚✏️

As students head back to the classroom, the Baltimore Police Department’s Forensic Sciences and Evidence Divisions Outreach Unit is excited to help kick off the school year by attending Milford Mill Academy College & Career Night!

We enjoyed connecting with students, sharing career opportunities in forensic science, and showing how science, technology, and teamwork support criminal investigations.

Happy Forensic Friday!

Last week we held our Forensic Division Family Day, and it was an incredible day of laughter, connection, and community!

Our loved ones came together for fun activities, smiles, and unforgettable memories, starting with an open house tour of the laboratory and learning about each unit. Afterward, we hosted a cookout with relays, scavenger hunts, drone demonstrations, and more!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make this event such a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with our community and look forward to many more moments like these!

Members of the Baltimore Police Department Forensic Division were honored to support the Baltimore Hunger Project by helping pack meal bags for children in our community.

We are grateful to the Baltimore Hunger Project for the incredible work they do every day to fight childhood hunger and make a lasting difference in so many families lives. Together, we can continue building a stronger, healthier Baltimore!

Join us in celebrating Ellie, Grace, and Ayla for completing their 36-hour Forensic Experience with the Baltimore Police Department’s Forensic Science and Evidence Services Division!
Motivated by their interest in forensic science and policing, they spent a day in each of our units, exploring forensic science and many of the sworn disciplines that support criminal investigations. Their favorite part was discovering the realities of forensic science beyond what they see on TV.

Starring our Forensic Science Summer Interns,  Isabella and Lizzie!

Sometimes the best part of an internship isn’t confirming what you already know; it’s discovering something you never expected!
This summer, our interns have been exploring different forensic disciplines, working alongside our scientists, and, in doing so, they have found areas that spark their interest.

But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what Lizzie and Isabella had to say:

Lizzie: “I’m a senior at Loyola Maryland interested in Trace Evidence and Fi****ms Examinations! I have shadowed Fi****ms Analysis, and it sparked an interest in being a forensic scientist! “

Isabella: “I loved shadowing the Latent Prints unit and can see myself there long-term!”

Their exposure and curiosity are exactly what inspires our future forensic scientists in a variety of disciplines; we can’t wait to see where their journeys lead!
