In this episode we see Pepper (Dan Stevens) begin his 2 week stay in New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. The routine seems normal enough with recreational time, medication schedule and even a book club. Things go dark however when a misunderstanding at visiting hours leaves Pepper isolated to his bed and restrained. While helpless he is visited by a creature from the ceiling. As Pepper finds himself on the receiving end of several attacks from this beast, by the episodes end he is left battered, bruised and wheelchair bound.

I really enjoyed the expansion of the facility and its inhabitants in this episode. We spent time with several other patients not least of all Coffee (Chinaza Uche) who is probably already my favorite character. We start to see just how dark thing are in New Hyde and begin to understand an entity has taken resident in the place as well. When Coffee gets a call from the entity where it threatens harm on Coffee if he doesn't make Pepper stay, we really start to see that all the patients are under this things rule weather they like it or not. I really enjoyed the visitors hour scenes and how Marisol came and dropped the bomb on us that Pepper has an estranged son that might just be his only chance at getting out. It was a bit of a slow start but this episode added alot of stakes to the table for Pepper as well as the rest of the residents of New Hyde.
