St. Anthony Summit Hospital is proud to have earned the Pediatric Advanced designation from the Colorado Pediatric Preparedness for the Emergency Room (COPPER) program. This is the highest level of recognition for pediatric emergency care in Colorado.

This EMS Week, we congratulate Dr Anne Adema for her work - recognizing the needs for training EMS and ED providers when care for the critically ill child, and developing solutions.

“Fortunately, for the most part, kids are pretty healthy, so overall paramedics and emergency providers see fewer very sick kids compared to very sick adults. That means placing an IO in an infant or kid is a high-acuity, low-frequency event.”
