Are you a veteran approaching 65…? VA Healthcare, Medicare and TRICARE For Live (TFL) can work together. The right mix depends on your individual needs.
What you need to know:
• Timing matters.
• VA is its own system. There is no enrollment fee for veterans and no bill to Medicare or TFL for care you receive at VA.
• TFL fills the gaps. Once active, TRICARE For Life covers deductibles, copays and extras that Medicare alone does not, such as routine eye exams.
• Access can change over time. Your VA priority, local wait times and health needs may shift. Medicare keeps that door open.
• VA and TFL work together. Enrolling in one does not cancel out the other.

The Veteran Express Same-Day Walk-In Clinic at the PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom VA Clinic can help with minor conditions such as coughs, colds, flu, sore throat, strep throat, ear problems, urinary symptoms, skin conditions, minor injuries, sprains, strains, and low back pain.

Vet Express does not provide emergency-level services.

For chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, broken bones, severe burns, overdose or poisoning, seizures, loss of consciousness, active bleeding, serious wounds, possible stroke symptoms, or thoughts of su***de or self-harm, call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room.

For non-life-threatening concerns that Vet Express cannot treat, seek care at an Urgent Care clinic or contact your VA care team.

For a mental health crisis, call or text 988, then press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line.

When symptoms are severe or life-threatening, do not wait—get emergency help.

The VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System celebrated White Cane Day at multiple facilities during the week of Oct. 19, 2026.

In this video, hear Navy Veteran Darla Flannery, a partially blind Veteran, talk about her experience with the blind rehab programs within VA.

White Cane History: A resolution was passed on Oct. 6, 1964. The resolution was authorized by President Lyndon B. Johnson to proclaim Oct. 15 of each year as "White Cane Safety Day."

This day has helped gain recognition of the white cane as a symbol of independence and of self-reliance. "The wish and the will to be free" continues to be a motto of so many Veterans who are blind or visually impaired.

Due to the relocation of the Audiology Clinic to the second floor at the PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom VA Clinic, the Same-Day Hearing Aid Repair Clinic will be available on Wednesday mornings, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Patients will be seen in the main lobby waiting area on a first-come, first-served basis. The clinic can accommodate the first 30 patients who check in. Any additional patients will be asked to return the following week.

Please note that patient care rooms and Audiology services are limited during this construction transition. For this reason, hearing aid repairs will be performed in the main lobby rather than in the clinic rooms.
