Getting older comes with questions. Thursday’s East Texas Senior Expo is designed to help people find answers close to home.

The 4th Annual East Texas Senior Expo and Resource Fair is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, at First Methodist Church of Athens. The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will bring together health care providers, senior services, financial experts, and community organizations from across the area.

Organizers are promoting the event as a chance for seniors, caregivers, and families to ask questions and connect with resources in one place. Educational speakers, professional resources, lunch, door prizes, and live dementia education demonstrations are all planned throughout the day. A Smart TV will also be given away as the grand prize.

Sponsors include Alinea Family Hospice, Christus Health, UT Health, Texas Oncology, Caring Companions at Home, Park Highlands Health & Rehab, and several other regional organizations focused on aging, health care, and senior living.

The event is open to the public and designed to help East Texans navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with aging while staying connected to local support systems.
