Last Tuesday during a training night our members took time to sharpen their skills and recertify in CPR this training and knowledge is crucial in any type of emergencies our members may encounter. All this was able to be done in house thanks lieutenant Frank Leslie.

The Armstrong Fire Protection District would like to honor and remember John Charles Fehling, a longtime member of our community who dedicated a significant part of his life to serving others through our fire district.

John served as a volunteer firefighter and served as president of the Armstrong Fire Protection District Board for 20 years. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to our department and community helped shape the organization we are proud to be a part of today.

Serving a community takes more than answering calls. It takes people willing to give their time, take on responsibility, and work behind the scenes to help keep their neighbors safe.

John was one of those people, and his years of service will always be an important part of our department’s history. As we look back on this photograph, we are reminded that a fire department is more than trucks, equipment, and a station. It is the people who give their time, stand alongside one another, and dedicate themselves to something bigger than themselves.

John was part of that family, and his place in our history will not be forgotten. Beyond his service to the fire district, John was a longtime Armstrong resident, a farmer, and a United States Marine Corps veteran who served our country during the Vietnam War. His life reflected years of service to both his country and his community.

On behalf of the Armstrong Fire Protection District, we extend our deepest condolences to John's family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Thank you, John, for your years of service, your leadership, and your dedication to the Armstrong Fire Protection District. We are grateful for the time you gave to this department and the lasting mark you left on our community.

Rest easy, John. Your service will be remembered, and your legacy will live on. Once a member of the AFPD family, always a member of the AFPD family.

This Saturday our junior firefighters are throwing a Halloween Dance with a cash prize for best costume come support our future firefighters and have some spooky fun 👻🎃.

After members tested and measured flow rates of the fire hydrants around town you may notice some are different colors then others. This is for First Responders to identify a hydrant and know what the gallons per minute of that hydrant are. Thank you Curtis Hammons for helping us and the citizens of Armstrong for your patience while water pressure was low today.

Reminder: Today crews will be out this afternoon cleaning,flushing and testing hydrants around the district. If you see them please slow down and be aware. Our volunteers safty is just as important as those they serve. Thank you

Today Armstrong Fire Protection District took our pumper tanker 802 to Fayette Fire Department - Howard County Station 1 for pump testing with Precision Fire Apparatus. We’re happy to report that 802 successfully passed testing and is ready for its next call!
A big thank you to Fayette Fire/ Howard County Station 1 for hosting us and Precision Fire Apparatus for performing the testing and helping ensure our apparatus is ready to serve our community. As well as Jayce Olendorff with Glasgow Fire District for the planning and scheduling.

The AFPD will be flushing fire hydrants aswell as pressure testing the 17th of October.
