Disaster preparedness starts with community.

At Liberty Lutheran, our people-centered services are rooted in walking alongside individuals, families, and communities when they need support most. Through Lutheran Disaster Response–Eastern PA, we help strengthen community preparedness, resilience, and recovery.

Join us and our community partners for a free Disaster Preparedness Workshop in Jenkintown. In partnership with the Keswick Village Community Resilience Coalition and Crisis Relief and Recovery, this workshop will offer practical ways to prepare your family for emergencies, connect with local resources, and build a stronger, more resilient community.

Coming together to collaborate, learn, and look ahead!

On Friday, October 16, Liberty Lutheran’s senior leadership team and board members gathered for a day of collaboration and connection, bringing colleagues from across our senior living communities and services together to share ideas and explore new opportunities.

A special thank you to Alex White of Clifton Larson Allen LLP (CLA) for leading an engaging presentation on “Artificial Intelligence Basics and Adoption in Healthcare.” The session sparked great questions, thoughtful discussion, and fresh ideas about how emerging technologies may help shape the future of healthcare and senior services.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen connections across our organization, and continue finding innovative ways to support the individuals and families we serve.

This Labor Day, we celebrate the incredible people who make our communities so special every single day.

While today may be a day of rest and recognition, we know that caring never takes a holiday. Our dedicated caregivers, nurses, dining teams, housekeeping staff, maintenance teams, administrators, and so many others pour their hearts into their work all year long.

Their work is more than a job—it is truly a labor of love.

Through compassionate care, helping hands, warm smiles, and countless acts of kindness, our staff make a difference in the lives of the residents and families we are honored to serve.

Today, and every day, we thank our incredible team members for the heart they bring to their work. You are the heart of our communities, and we are endlessly grateful for all that you do.

☀️ AS WE SAY GOODBYE TO AUGUST… 🌻

We’re taking a moment to look back at a summer that was full of life, laughter, connection and plenty of fun across our senior living communities!

From sunny afternoons and courtyard BBQs to themed parties, Summer Socials and special celebrations, we packed the season with outdoor games, monthly birthday celebrations, garden-grown goodness, meal prep, and memories made together.

There was even a very special kangaroo visit at Paul’s Run, Hungry Hippo games and themed parties at Artman, and a 25th Anniversary Casino Night celebration at The Manor at York Town! 🎲✨

But summer wasn’t just about fun. Our family of services also stepped up to support our neighbors following the storm damage across Philadelphia.

So much summer packed into one season! As we turn the page to September, we’re looking forward to all that’s ahead.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bishop Davenport. She was a true champion for social ministry organizations like Liberty Lutheran, advocating for our call to serve and care for those facing challenging times. We are forever grateful for her inspiring ministry and partnership.

Disasters don’t wait until we’re ready for them.

On July 4th, severe storms ripped through much of our region resulting in severe flooding. The following weekend, four microbursts from another storm devastated neighborhoods in South and West Philadelphia.

A microburst is a sudden, powerful downdraft of sinking air within a thunderstorm, causing severe damage in only a few minutes, comparable to a small tornado. Powerful winds knocked over large oak, sycamore, and maple trees, damaging roofs, buildings and vehicles and causing widespread power outages.

So far, over 600 residents have self-reported damage to personal property and food that has gone bad due to the power outages. Some families have lost their homes entirely as damage has rendered them not livable.
