Building relationships with partners is a key to successful disaster response. Tonight LCS learned about issues most important to the many voices that make up GACLA, the Governor’s Advisory Committee for Latino Affairs. The Health Subcommittee noted the lack of affordable housing in Pennsylvania, which is also one of the biggest concerns of LCS’s as well.

LCS proudly repped Lutheran Disaster Response and Pennsylvania VOAD at the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD) conference. Nyla Howell and Julia Frank taught a workshop on how to use the PhotoVoice techniwue to improve survivor out ones, and Julia was elected the bew Chair of the Disaster Case Management committee.
