📢 CLEANUP WEEK CORRECTION & REMINDER! 🧹🍂

The City of Alma would like to correct an error in our previous post regarding the Cleanup Week dumpster locations.

📍 CORRECTION: There is NO dumpster located on S. Thomas Street. The correct location is at the corner of S. Church Street and W. 14th Street, next to the charging stations.

🗑️ Cleanup Week runs October 28th through November 4th, with dumpsters available at the same five designated locations as previous cleanup weeks.

🚫 Tires and batteries will NOT be accepted. If you need information about proper tire disposal, please contact City Hall at 912-632-8072.

🙏 Please be respectful and use only the designated City cleanup dumpsters. Do not place items in dumpsters belonging to private individuals or businesses.

Thank you for helping us keep Alma clean, beautiful, and a great place to call home! 💙💚

🚨💙 National First Responders Day 💙🚨

To those who show up when we need them most — who leave their families in the middle of the night to answer a call, step away from holiday dinners, and work long, stressful hours to keep our community safe — we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you.

Your service often means sacrificing time with your own loved ones to be there for someone else’s family. Your dedication, courage, and willingness to serve, no matter the time or circumstance, do not go unnoticed.

Today, the City of Alma honors and thanks all of our first responders for the sacrifices they and their families make every day.

Thank you for answering the call and for always being there when our community needs you most. 🇺🇸❤️

Georgia Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Christopher Nunn and his team traveled to Vidalia to award 17 Community Development Block Grants to regional cities and counties, including our City of Alma. This CDBG will renovate the sewer in the area at East 12th St. and South Wayne.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds are federal grants that help cities and counties improve infrastructure, such as water and sewer systems, roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, flood prevention, and stormwater management, expand economic opportunities, and address local community needs. These funds primarily benefit low- and moderate-income residents, and many grant recipients are rural communities with limited resources to address infrastructure and development challenges.

The City of Alma extends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Donnie Taylor.

Donnie was the beloved husband of our Assistant City Manager, Trina Taylor, and father of Darren Taylor, a valued member of our Public Works Department.

During this difficult time, we ask our community to keep Trina, Darren, and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this tremendous loss. May they find comfort in the love and support of those around them and peace in the memories they will forever cherish.
