🧔💅 NO SHAVE NOVEMBER & DECEMBER IS HERE!

You may notice a few more beards popping up around the Aberdeen Police Department over the next two months. And in the spirit of being fair, ladies are welcome to show off their creativity with any nail color or design throughout November and December.

But before you judge the beards, question the mustaches, or wonder what happened to everyone's grooming standards, know that there's a good reason behind it! 😂

Officers had to pay a donation fee in order to participate, and here's where the money goes:

🧔 NOVEMBER: 100% of proceeds will benefit Special Olympics North Carolina

🎄 DECEMBER: 100% of proceeds will go toward our annual Shop with a Cop program

Whether it's growing a beard, sporting a new nail design, or simply supporting the cause, every contribution makes a difference.

So, if your favorite officer starts looking a little less polished over the next couple of months, just know it's for a good cause! We promise there's a method to the madness. 😉❤️🚔

Well, Halloween is officially in the books, the candy has (hopefully) survived the night, and we all got a bonus hour of sleep thanks to the end of Daylight Saving Time!

We hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween and thoroughly enjoyed that extra hour. Everyone, that is, except our nightshift officers, who got to experience the other side of falling back. 😂

While the rest of Aberdeen was happily snoozing away, our nightshift crew was probably wondering who came up with this whole daylight-saving idea in the first place.

To those officers, we salute you. ☕ You deserve an extra-large coffee... and possibly a second Halloween candy stash.

🎃 It's Halloween weekend, so this is a friendly reminder to have fun, make good decisions, and remember that we're not trying to add any new faces to our press release and mugshot collection. 👻

Oh yeah… LOCK YOUR DOORS, know where your kids are, and maybe keep an eye on your friends, too. 😉

Be safe, be smart, and please behave. We have candy to eat and paperwork we'd rather not do! 🚔🍬

A big THANK YOU to Walmart for their generous $150 contribution toward our Halloween candy! With a little help from our friends at Walmart and a little investment from the department, we've got plenty of treats ready to go! 🎃🍬

Tomorrow, our officers will be out and about riding through Aberdeen neighborhoods, keeping an eye on things and making plenty of stops to hand out candy to our little ghosts, goblins, and superheroes!

So don't be surprised if you see us out rolling through your neighborhood. We're just making sure Halloween is safe, fun, and a little sweeter for everyone!

🎃👻 HALLOWEEN DO'S & DON’TS 👻🎃

Halloween is this weekend! Before the little ghosts and goblins hit the streets, here are a few reminders from your favorite department!

✅ THE DO'S
🎃 DO carry a flashlight or glow sticks so you can be seen.
🍬 DO stay on sidewalks and cross at designated crosswalks.
👨‍👩‍👧 DO trick-or-treat with a trusted adult, especially younger children.
🚗 DO watch for cars, and remember drivers may not see you in a dark costume.
🍭 DO inspect candy before eating it.
🏠 DO visit well-lit homes and only approach homes that are welcoming trick-or-treaters.
🦺 DO wear costumes that are visible, fit properly, and allow you to see where you're going.

❌ THE DON’TS
👻 DON'T dart between parked cars or run across the street.
📱 DON'T stare at your phone while walking. The sidewalk is not the place for a scrolling session!
🍬 DON'T eat candy before it's checked.
🚪 DON'T enter a stranger's home or vehicle.
🕸️ DON'T wear masks or costumes that block your vision.
🚙 DON'T assume drivers can see you just because you can see them!

Looking for something to do Saturday morning before consuming a pound of candy Saturday night? 🍬😂 We’ve got an idea!

Our neighbors in Pinehurst are hosting the Monster Mash 5K, and we’re giving it two enthusiastic thumbs up! 🙌

Why? Because 100% of the proceeds benefit Special Olympics North Carolina! ❤️💛💙 And if you know us, you know we’re always going to support a great cause like this!

👻 Even though the online registration deadline has passed, on-site registration will still be available Saturday morning, so you can still lace up those sneakers and join the fun!

Come out, get moving, support some amazing athletes, and earn at least a little of that Halloween candy! 😉

The Aberdeen Police Department requests the public's assistance in identifying the individual in the photographs below.

On October 26, 2026, the subject broke in multiple vehicles, stole items, and then used stolen credit cards at a local gas station. He was seen in a gold in color 2018 Ford Escape (pictured).

🚨🎃 BOOZE IT & LOSE IT – HALLOWEEN ENFORCEMENT CAMPAIGN 🎃🚨

The Aberdeen Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across North Carolina in support of the NC Governor’s Highway Safety Program’s Halloween “Booze It & Lose It” campaign, all through this week and continuing through Sunday, November 1, 2026.

🚔 During this statewide initiative, law enforcement agencies will increase patrols and enforcement efforts to identify impaired drivers and help keep our roadways safe.

Halloween is a time for costumes, candy, and celebrations—not impaired driving!
✅ Plan ahead and designate a sober driver.
✅ Use a rideshare service or arrange a safe ride home.�
✅ Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.�
✅ Watch for pedestrians and children enjoying Halloween festivities.

👻 Don’t let a night of fun turn into a lifetime of consequences.
