Y'ALL, IT'S OFFICIAL!

Our little blue crawfish finally has a name!

Everyone, meet Claw-Dette Bleudreaux! 💕

She's blue, she's got a little sass, and she's as unique as the place we call home!

Merci to all of YOU who submitted names and helped bring our newest Cajun personality to life. We couldn't have done it without y'all!

And because every good Cajun needs a partner in crime, we'd also like to introduce her little buddy, Claw-D! ❤️🦞

Claw-Dette will be our official Vermilion Parish tourism mascot, but you can expect to see her little red friend tagging along!

And stay tuned… Claw-Dette & Claw-D merch is coming!

The Woman Behind the Bridge| The Story of Rose Ashy Broussard
If you've ever traveled Highway 82 toward Pecan Island or Freshwater City, you've likely crossed the Forked Island Bridge. But do you know the woman behind it?

Armed with determination, a petition, and a whole lot of persistence, Mrs. Rose fought for a safer, more reliable connection for her community.

Her efforts helped make that vision a reality, and in 2021, the bridge was officially named the Rose Ashy Broussard Memorial Bridge in her honor.

So the next time you cross, remember Mrs. Rose and the difference one determined woman can make. ❤️

Spend the day with us in Gueydan, Louisiana — the Duck Capital of America!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of exploring this charming little corner of Vermilion Parish, and what a wonderful day it was! ❤️

From wide-open farmland and beautiful wildlife to historic oak trees, local museums, small businesses, and delicious Cajun eats, Gueydan has so much to offer!

We made stops at the The Gueydan Museum and Cultural Art Society , Pool Hall Cafe--Sip & Thrift ,Cafe Veiller , and Johnnys Drive Inn , but what made the day truly special were the friendly faces and warm welcomes along the way.

It's communities like Gueydan that remind us why Vermilion Parish is The Most Cajun Place on Earth! ⚜️
