Please help me thank Senior Deputy Austin Miller for 15 years of dedicated service to the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office.

Senior Deputy Miller began his career with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office as a Patrol Deputy, a role he served in until the School Resource Officer program was established in 2024. He continues to serve as one of VPSO’s School Resource Officers.

Thank you, Senior Deputy Miller, for your dedication to VPSO and to Vermilion Parish.

As Law Enforcement Month continues, I want to personally thank all of the brave men and women working shifts across Vermilion Parish to help keep our communities safe. While many are at home with their families, these dedicated deputies continue answering calls, patrolling, responding to emergencies, and standing ready to help residents in need.

Your sacrifice, professionalism, and commitment to serving others do not go unnoticed. Vermilion Parish is safer because of your hard work and dedication.

Thank you to every VPSO deputy for all that you do each and every day. Stay safe, and always know that your service is appreciated.

Congratulations on your accomplishment, Ridge, and good luck at the state level!

Sheriff Eddie Langlinais is proud to announce that Ridge Ramsey, a fifth-grade student at Cecil Picard Elementary, has advanced to the state level of the D.A.R.E. essay contest. After first winning the contest at his school, Ridge’s essay went on to compete against thousands of entries from across the district, where it was selected as the district winner and chosen to represent the area at the state competition.

Today, VPSO D.A.R.E. Supervisor Lieutenant Marcus Hebert and Ridge’s D.A.R.E. instructor, Lieutenant Regina Suire, presented him with a gift and his award in recognition of this outstanding achievement.

Ridge has also been invited to attend the Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers Association Conference in July, where the state winner of the D.A.R.E. essay contest will be announced.

Congratulations, Ridge, on this incredible accomplishment. We are proud of you and wish you the best of luck at the state level!

A special congratulations to the Hub City Region’s own Hailey Reviere, who was honored as the 2026 Paramedic of the Year. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping others make a difference in the lives of many.
