Caragasan NHS Fields 66 Athletes in 2026 Alfonso Lista Municipal Meet, Secures 14 Provincial Qualifiers
ALFONSO LISTA, IFUGAO — Demonstrating athletic prowess, grit, and exemplary sportsmanship, Caragasan National High School (CNHS) fielded a delegation of 66 student-athletes at the 2026 Alfonso Lista Municipal Athletic Meet held on October 9–10, 2026, producing 14 qualifiers for the upcoming 2026 Ifugao Provincial Athletic Meet.
The two-day sporting event gathered promising young delegates from secondary schools across the municipality, serving as the primary selection ground for the town's athletic roster in the next tier of competition.
CNHS athletes competed in various individual and team disciplines—including track and field, ball games, racket sports, board games, and combat sports. Despite formidable competition from neighboring schools in Alfonso Lista, the Caragasan contingent showcased tactical play, physical endurance, and disciplined ex*****on.
Out of the 66 student-athletes representing CNHS, 14 emerged as gold and silver medalists in their respective categories, earning top spots on the official Municipal Delegation roster that will represent Alfonso Lista at the provincial games.
The school administration, teaching staff, and coaching personnel commended the delegation for their discipline both on and off the court.
"Sending 66 dedicated student-athletes to the municipal meet is a testament to the growing sports program at Caragasan National High School. Securing 14 slots for the Provincial Meet is an incredible accomplishment that highlights the talent, hard work, and resilience of our youth," noted the CNHS sports delegation head.
Parents, teachers, and members of Barangay Caragasan, Kiling, and Butigue Mountain Province also expressed pride and gratitude to the team, highlighting how athletics fosters unity, character building, and academic-sports balance among high school students.
With the municipal athletic meet concluded, the 14 qualifiers will immediately transition into intensive training and conditioning programs organized by the municipality's sports committee. These student-athletes will join fellow municipal representatives to refine their skills and team synergy ahead of the 2026 Ifugao Provincial Athletic Meet, where they hope to earn qualifying spots for the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet.
