KITE FESTIVAL

Join us on Saturday (22 August) for Hunts Grove’s first Kite Festival.

Let’s fill the sky over Hunts Grove Rise with colourful kites in this free event. It’s a lovely way to enjoy our green space with family, friends and neighbours.

Bring kites, food, drinks and picnic mats/chairs.

Please only bring lightweight kites.

(No large professional kites and no drones.)

COMMUNITY CENTRE AND SPORTS PITCHES

Crest have provided an update on work to deliver the Community Centre and sports pitches, which is starting. You can read it at https://www.huntsgrove-pc.gov.uk/2026/08/work-on-the-community-centre-begins/

The Parish Council recently met representatives of Crest and the different teams involved as part of our preparation to run the facilities.

The PTFA is bringing Happy's Circus to Hunts Grove Primary Academy on 17 September.

OAK TREE SCULPTURE

It's not too late to have your say on the oak tree on Harrier Way/Siskin Way. Deadline is Sunday 9 August. Which of the three options do you prefer?

KITE FESTIVAL: We are considering organising a mini kite festival on Hunts Grove Rise during the summer holidays, either on Saturday 22 or 29 August. We’d like to gauge interest before making arrangements.

OAK TREE SCULPTURE

Working with Crest and Preim we have secured money to deliver a sculpture at no cost to residents using the stump of the oak tree on the junction of Harrier Way and Siskin Way. There are three options for the oak tree:

Option 1: Leave as is
Option 2: Abstract sculpture of pollinators
Option 3: Wildlife sculpture.

We want to know what you think.

Events are important to our community - and the Parish Council is keen to work with residents to ensure we can hold events and help make Hunts Grove a great place to live. The next meeting of our Events Working Group is on Tuesday 28 July - why not come along.

Despite being a young community Hunts Grove has already had a range of fun, memorable community events including music festivals, a Santa Run, Haunts Grove, Festivals of Light and more.
