I do feel we are being railroaded into joining the West of England Combined Authority, WECA.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing as the County Councillor for Lydney and Aylburton to request information regarding Section 106 contributions secured from developments within and around Lydney.

I have been advised by Hannah Long of the Forest of Dean District Council S106 team that Section 106 monies committed to highway works are managed by Gloucestershire County Council and that the District Council does not currently hold any suitable funds for the proposal I am investigating.

I would be grateful if you could provide details of all current and unspent Section 106 highway and transport contributions arising from developments in Lydney, including:

Development name and planning reference.

Amount originally secured.

Amount spent to date.

Current unspent balance.

Relevant spending deadlines or expiry dates.

The purposes for which the funding may legally be used.

Any geographic restrictions attached to the contribution.

Whether the funding could be used, either wholly or in part, towards pedestrian crossing facilities on the A48 at Aylburton.

As you may be aware, there is significant local concern regarding pedestrian safety within Aylburton, particularly given increased traffic movements associated with recent development in the wider Lydney area. I am therefore keen to establish whether any developer funded mitigation measures are available to support a crossing scheme.

If this request would be better directed to a specific officer or team within Gloucestershire County Council, I would be grateful if you could either forward it accordingly or provide the appropriate contact details.
