To coincide with the recruitment process, Bamber Bridge Fire Station are going to run an open day on Saturday 13th June from 10.00- 12.00.

The open day is being run to help all potential candidates through the recruitment process. On the day you will be able to:

- Meet existing On-call firefighters and speak to them about their experiences

- Practice drills needed for the next stage of the application, such as: equipment carry, casualty drag, ladder extending.

- Receive guidance on how to complete each section of the recruitment process.

- Ask any further questions you may have.

Just a little reminder, for those interested in applying to become an On-call firefighter, we are not at station tonight (Monday 18th).

Our next drill will be: Tuesday 26th May at Bamber Bridge Fire Station, 7pm-9pm.

Please come along, where you will be able to speak to other On-call firefighters, get a detailed insight into the recruitment programme and ask any questions you may have.

Bamber Bridge Fire Station is actively recruiting on-call firefighters.

Key Information for Prospective On-Call Firefighters:

- You must live or work within 5 minutes of the station to respond to pager alerts.

- On-call firefighters are contracted from 60 hours each week.

- The station averages 6 incidents per week, which often occur between 7 pm and 12 am. On average, call outs last 60 minutes.

- On-call firefighters receive a salary (including a retainer) and are paid for training, courses, and call-outs.

In June, we will be recruiting for on call firefighters at Bamber Bridge Fire Station.

When alerted by pager, on call firefighters are required to respond to incidents across Lancashire.

Full training is provided and you will be contracted to 60 hours, which can be arranged alongside your primary employment and lifestyle.

As well as providing an extra income, you will get the chance to learn new skills and help the local community.

If you’re interested in learning more and think you may live/work within 5 minutes from the station please message us.

Alternatively, you could come along to the station on a Monday 19.00 - 20.30 when we hold our weekly drill nights. (Excluding bank holidays)

Quick reminder....

Those ‘FH’ or ‘WO’ markings on the pavement, grass verges or road? They’re fire hydrants.

Parking over them can delay firefighters getting vital water during an emergency.

Please think before you park, every second counts.
