Michelle recommends 'The Names' by Florence Knapp:
“I finished this book in a matter of days – I couldn’t put it down. It was so easy to read. Each chapter leaves you waiting to find out what happens next. It’s a really good book.”
If you would like to share your book recommendation to help us celebrate the National Year of Reading in Barnsley, simply send us a photo of you holding your chosen book and tell us why you love it.

In his book 'Between the World and Me', African-American journalist and author Ta-Nehisi Coates explains the vital role libraries have played in his life:
"The pursuit of knowing was freedom to me, the right to declare your own curiosities and follow them through all manner of books. I was made for the library, not the classroom. The classroom was a jail of other people's interests. The library was open, unending, free. Slowly, I was discovering myself."
