Today, we recognize and thank the brave men and women who answer the call when others need help the most.

From firefighters and paramedics to police officers, dispatchers, and all emergency personnel, you put others before yourselves, often facing danger, uncertainty, and difficult situations to protect our communities.

Behind every call is a person willing to step forward when someone else is having their worst day. Your courage, dedication, sacrifice, and compassion do not go unnoticed.

We will have members at the fire station handing out candy and hot chocolate make sure you stop by to warm up and get some candy

Let all kids know if they get separated from their group or parents to come to the fire station we will get them home

With winter coming and furnaces starting make sure you have your CO alarms working push the button check they beep that beep will save your life.

Carbon monoxide (CO) alarms are the most effective way to provide early warning of CO. By November 1, all multi-unit residential buildings in Saskatchewan must have CO alarms in every suite.

A properly installed and maintained alarm can give you critical time to respond to CO in your home.

This weekend we had 6 members taking intraining at fall fire school at Weyburn

Thank you to Weyburn Fire Rescue for hosting and Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighter's Association for facilitating the training and all the instructors for giving up their weekend to train.

2 members took vehicle fire fighting

🚨 IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY UPDATE – HENRY’S LAW 🚨

📅 Effective November 1, 2026 – Saskatchewan

The Stoughton–Tecumseh & District Fire Department would like to remind residents and property owners about Henry’s Law, new provincial requirements designed to improve protection against carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.

🏠 What does this mean?

Beginning November 1, 2026, every residential suite in a multi-unit residential building must have a carbon monoxide alarm installed, regardless of the suite’s location or the age of the building.

This includes:
🔹 Apartments
🔹 Condominiums
🔹 Homes with secondary suites
🔹 Other residential buildings containing multiple suites

⚠️ Why is this important?

Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless and poisonous gas that can be deadly. It can be produced by fuel-burning appliances such as furnaces, water heaters, fireplaces and other equipment.

✅ What should you do?
• Make sure your suite has a working carbon monoxide alarm.
• Test your alarms regularly and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Replace expired alarms as recommended.
• Have fuel-burning appliances inspected and maintained by qualified professionals.

🏢 Landlords and property owners: Make sure your buildings meet the new requirements before the November 1 deadline.

Carbon monoxide can’t be seen or smelled. A working alarm can provide the early warning you and your family need.

Protect your home. Protect your family. Don’t wait until November 1!

Carbon monoxide and smoke alarms must be installed in all residential buildings and all buildings with overnight sleeping accommodations in Saskatchewan.

🔥 A FULL charge isn’t worth a house fire!

A simple charging habit can put your home and family at risk.

Most smartphones use lithium-ion batteries. When damaged, defective, or overheated, these batteries can enter thermal runaway, potentially causing a fire.

⚠️ Never charge your phone on a bed, sofa, or under a pillow.

⚠️ Avoid charging unattended or while sleeping.

⚠️ Use certified, compatible chargers and charge on a hard, non-combustible surface.

A little precaution can prevent a big disaster. Charge safely and protect your home and family.
