In the RM Tecumseh there is the little blue sign at the end of your lane, incase of an emergency if you give that number on the sign to the dispatch they will be able to give us or EMS your land location and directions

🪧 Civic address signs are an important tool for helping emergency responders find the right location when every second counts. The Civic Address Registry (CAR) supports communities by maintaining accurate address information and unique property access point locations.

Yesterday we were toned out to 2 calls

Call 1 was a field fire in the RM Tecumseh called out 1515 back in service at 1730

Call 2 at 0100 was a call for a structure fire but was found it was an air fryer that had shorted out causing smoke in the house. The home owner had unplugged and covered the fryer with a pair of fire retardant coveralls which smothered the flames. We had a good look in the area to make sure there was not hot spots all units back in service at 0330, the home owners action prevented the fire from spreading

Our thoughts are with Shaunavon District Fire & Rescue and family of the fire fighter who was involved, hoping for a speed recovery!

On Thursday at approximately 3:00 p.m., a truck was involved in a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 37 north of Shaunavon.

The Town of Shaunavon and SDFR can confirm that the vehicle was a Shaunavon Fire Department truck containing a solo occupant. The driver was transported to the hospital by STARS air ambulance with injuries described as serious in nature.

Further official updates will be released as reliable information is provided. We ask the public to respect the privacy of the member's family and avoid speculation while the investigation continues.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all surrounding departments, first responders, and on-scene personnel for their rapid assistance and continued support. Please keep our firefighter and our department in your thoughts.

🚜🌾 HARVEST SAFETY REMINDER FROM Stoughton- Tecumseh & District Fire Dept 🌾🚜

Harvest season is a busy time of year, and we want everyone to make it home safely at the end of the day.

A few important reminders as you head into the fields:

🧯 Keep fire extinguishers on combines, tractors and other equipment, and make sure they’re accessible and in good working order.

🧹 Keep equipment clean. Crop residue, dust and debris can quickly become a fire hazard around hot engines and exhaust systems.

🔧 Check equipment regularly for worn wiring, leaking fuel or hydraulic lines, and other potential hazards.

🚜 Watch for slow-moving farm equipment on the roads. Give yourself extra time, slow down and be patient. Do not pass unless you can do so safely and legally. That few extra minutes could prevent a serious collision.

👀 Stay alert and expect the unexpected. Farm equipment may be turning, entering fields or making sudden stops.

😴 Take breaks and stay alert. Long days and fatigue can lead to accidents.

📱 Make sure someone knows where you are working, especially when operating equipment alone.

🔥 If you see smoke or fire, shut down equipment if it is safe to do so, move to a safe location and call 911.

From all of us at Stoughton- Tecumseh & District Fire Dept have a safe and successful harvest! 🌾

Be patient. Slow down. Share the road. Make it home. ❤️
