New on the lake in Invermere this summer ☀️🏖️

Lakefront Grub & Gear has opened at Kinsmen Beach, bringing together lake rentals, tasty bites, and an easy way to spend the day by the water. Rent a paddleboard, kayak, canoe, or e-bike, then refuel with lakeside snacks and treats before heading back out for more adventure.

One full trip around the sun deserves a pint 🍻

is celebrating its first birthday. In just one year, they've become a gathering place for locals and visitors alike, serving great beer and creating a space where people can connect, unwind, and enjoy the best of Columbia Valley life.

Stop in and celebrate at their one year anniversary party today, Saturday June 13, and raise a glass to help celebrate this local milestone.

📣 Calling all trail runners 🌲🏃‍♀️

The WILDness is back at Panorama Mountain Resort this June, bringing a weekend of alpine running, big climbs, ridgelines, forests, and enough elevation to keep things interesting. Choose one day or take on the full two-day challenge and see how wild you’re feeling.

Set in the Purcell Mountains, this one is for the runners who look at a mountain and think, “I wonder if there’s a trail up there.”

Need an easy family day in the Columbia Valley? ☀️🏖️

James Chabot Provincial Park checks a lot of boxes. Pack a picnic, spend the afternoon at the beach, let the kids loose on the playground, stroll the boardwalk, or bring a paddleboard and get out on the water.

With sandy shores, mountain views, open green space, and plenty of room to play, the whole family will want to stay for the entire day!

How to stay bear aware while recreating in the Columbia Valley🐻

Seeing wildlife is part of what makes time spent in the mountains so special, but it also comes with a responsibility to help keep animals like bears wild and safe. Whether you're hiking, biking, sightseeing, or staying in the village, a few simple habits can make a big difference.

🐻Watch for bear signs like s**t, tracks and claw marks
🐻Avoid sneaking up on bears by talking and hiking in groups
🐻Be aware of surroundings and don't wear headphones
🐻Keep pets leashed and under control
🐻Keep food secured
🐻Pack out what you pack in
🐻Carry bear spray while hiking and be able to access it quickly
🐻Take bear safety training with organizations like WildSafeBC (It's FREE)

It is important that everyone recreating in the mountains does their part.

Give wildlife plenty of space, and stay aware of your surroundings while exploring. Let's do our part to help keep both people and bears safe this summer.

One of our favourite signs of summer in Invermere is back ☀️

The 12th Street Gathering Space has reopened for the season, creating more room to slow down, grab a coffee, meet up with friends, and enjoy Downtown Invermere a little differently.

The Gathering Space officially opens Friday, May 15th and will be open through September 30th.

If you’re visiting the Columbia Valley this summer, make sure to spend some time wandering through Invermere’s shops, patios, and local spots while you’re here.
