Former workers at a Broome disability group home allege residents faced neglect, unsafe conditions, medication failures and overcrowding. A man has faced court charged with hundreds of counts of fraud totalling more than $54,000.

Police allege Marie Jacques Robert Allier, 70, took the money from the bank account of the intellectually disabled man he lived with.

Outside court, Mr Allier denied the allegations against him and he is due to reappear in court in July.

A 70-year-old appointed homesharer faces court charged with 264 fraud offences after allegedly accessing the bank account of an intellectually disabled man who was living with him and spending over $54,000.

New government analysis reveals Australians with Down syndrome, psychosocial disability and vision impairment will be among those hardest hit by proposed NDIS cuts. Social and community participation funding could be slashed by 50%, increasing isolation and making it harder for people to work, study and stay connected. Disability advocates warn these changes threaten independence, dignity and inclusion for thousands of Australians already facing significant barriers.
