Happy World Teachers’ Day 2026

Today we celebrate the wonderful teachers at Hampton Park Primary School!

Teaching is so much more than delivering lessons. It’s about building relationships, sparking curiosity, encouraging confidence, celebrating progress and helping every child believe in what they can achieve.

To our HPPS teachers, thank you for your dedication, patience, creativity and the countless little things you do each day that make a big difference.

We know teaching isn't always easy, but the impact you have on our students lasts well beyond the classroom.

Happy World Teachers’ Day. We appreciate everything you do.

Snapshots from the Classroom

In 5C, we have been working hard on our daily Maths reviews, practising skills and concepts we have learnt to help strengthen our understanding and build confidence.

In Reading, we are exploring The Black Cockatoo while developing our comprehension skills and learning about the four sentence types. Through this story, we are discussing the importance of standing up for ourselves and celebrating our culture and identity. Students are sharing their ideas, making connections to the text and thinking about the messages the author wants us to understand. It has been great to see everyone challenging themselves and building their learning each day!

Snapshots from the Classroom

In Grade 2B , we have been busy learning all about Australian money! Students have been identifying coins and notes, exploring different ways to make the same dollar value using a variety of coins, and putting their skills into practice by playing shopkeeper.

Through hands-on activities and imaginative play, students are developing their money knowledge while building confidence in counting, calculating and solving real-world problems. What a fun way to learn maths!

Reminder – Foundation Transition 2nd Session (Classroom Based)
A reminder that tomorrow our 2027 Foundation Transition program continues with a classroom-based session.
Our students will spend time in classrooms, experiencing the learning environment and some of the routines we use at school. This helps them feel comfortable and confident ahead of their start at HPPS in 2027.
At the same time, we will be running a Parent Information Session, giving families an insight into what Foundation looks like at HPPS and the opportunity to ask any questions.

To HPPS Families,
We are currently experiencing technical issues with our school landline phones and are unable to receive incoming calls.
If you need to contact the school this morning, please call our school mobile on 0428 348 272.
We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and will let families know once our phones are working again.
Thank you for your understanding.

Year 3 Rugby Tag

On Wednesday, some NRL coaches came to school to teach our Year 3 students how to play Rugby Tag. Students learned how to score a 'try', how to pass the ball and how to play as a team. It was a fun session!

Snapshots from the Classroom

In 4B, students have been exploring the life cycles of plants and animals and learning about the different stages of growth and development. Last week, students planted their own Borlotti bean seeds and created mini greenhouses to provide the conditions needed for germination. Already, some seeds have begun to crack open, with tiny roots starting to emerge! Throughout this unit, students will observe and record changes as their seedlings grow, deepening their understanding of plant life cycles and what plants need to thrive. It has been wonderful to see their creativity and enthusiasm as they embark on this hands-on investigation!

2027 Foundation Transition – 2nd Session
Our next three Foundation Transition sessions will take place in classrooms. These sessions give our enrolled 2027 Foundation students the opportunity to experience the learning environment, get used to classroom routines, and build confidence before starting school.
At the same time, we will be running a series of Parent Information Sessions. These sessions are designed to provide families with insights into what Foundation looks like at HPPS, what your child will experience as they begin school, and to give you the chance to ask any questions.
We look forward to welcoming both students and families as we work together to set our 2027 Foundation students up for success.

ELF-tastic! Learning, Growing and Fun!
Last term, our wonderful ELF (English Language Foundation) students had a busy and fun-filled term of learning, creating and growing!
We became fairy bread experts, while learning how to write a procedure report.
It was so much fun getting our hands dirty, when starting our Farm to Plate Garden!
We planted zucchini, snow peas, beans, lettuce and cherry tomatoes. We can’t wait to watch our little garden grow, so we can pick the veggies and make something yummy to eat.
Our senior ELF students also got creative and painted some very special coffee mugs for their dads for Father’s Day.
From fairy bread to veggie gardens and colourful creations, it was a fantastic term full of smiles, new skills, heaps of learning and lots of fun!
