Our Community Garden is getting a little makeover, thanks to the creative talents of our Art Group!

The group has been busy designing and painting colourful signs to help everyone identify what's growing in the garden. And with artwork this good, we're thinking the vegetables might start getting a little competitive!

Who knew broccoli and zucchini could look so fabulous?

A big thank you to our talented artists for bringing even more colour, creativity and personality to our Community Garden. Now it's over to the fruit and veg.

Children's Week is an opportunity to celebrate childhood and recognise the rights, achievements and potential of all children and young people. This year's theme reminds us that every child has the right to embrace their culture, language and beliefs, and to feel proud of who they are.

Throwback Thursday, all the way back to 1953!

Before smartphones, social media and the school drop-off chaos, there was Narrabundah Infants School!

Here's a wonderful glimpse of 1953, when our CS #1 Head Office in Narrabundah was home to a very different crowd.

The hairstyles were immaculate, the uniforms were smart, and we're guessing nobody was asking for the Wi-Fi password.

More than 70 years later, the building is still bringing people together, just in a different way.

The intense focus was amazing in yesterday's Art Group session. The class felt a little bit like a creative meditation!

This week, the group was given a drawing task, and they took it all in their stride, as usual.

Back when the group started around three years ago, many of the new members were filled with a sense of dread. That feeling many of us can probably relate to, when we'd rather do almost anything else than reveal our creative side for fear of getting it wrong or not being 'good enough'.

Fast forward three years and what a transformation!

Those once-hesitant artists now approach each new challenge with confidence, curiosity and a willingness to give anything a go. There's no longer a fear of the blank page, just the enjoyment of creating something and seeing where it takes them.

And that's one of the lovely things about this group. It's not really about how good you are at drawing or painting. It's about trying something new, discovering abilities you didn't know you had, making connections and enjoying the company of others along the way.

We're incredibly proud of how far this wonderful group has come, and it's a lovely reminder that you might surprise yourself with what you can achieve if you're willing to give it a go.
