Good afternoon patrons! We're less than 3 weeks away from the Woonsocket Harris Public Library's Inaugural History Book Club. Our Reference Librarian who has a BA and MA in History will lead the discussion and reflect on his pick for the book club, Scars of Independence: America's Violent Birth by Holger Hoock.

Good afternoon patrons, don't forget to take advantage of our 1 on 1 tech help sessions tomorrow, September 1st, between 2pm-4pm. Our Reference Librarian will be available to assist with your computer, tablet, or smartphone and show you how to take advantage of our free library apps to download free ebooks and audiobooks for your recreational or educational needs.

Woonsocket Historical Society thank you to Irene and Roger from the Historical Society and to Sue from the American-French Genealogical Society for a great walking tour of Precious Blood Cemetery on Sunday, August 30th.

We had a great turnout and perfect weather for today's walking tour through Precious Blood Cemetery! We enjoyed exploring Woonsocket's rich history alongside the Woonsocket Historical Society, and the American-French Genealogical Society. It was incredible learning about the notable figures and everyday people who helped shape our city. Understanding our past helps us appreciate where we are today. Thank you to everyone who shared stories and brought our history to life! This tour was a project of the Woonsocket Harris Public Library and was made possible in part through a grant from the Rhode Island Office of Library and Information Services using funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
