From Potomac Local News - Cashless bail considered to man accused of sledgehammer attack on Quantico Iwo Jima statue
A judge stayed a cashless-bail order for Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, 27, accused of taking a sledgehammer to the Iwo Jima statue near Quantico, until a bond-appeal hearing Monday at 9:30 a.m. Unless the Circuit Court reverses the lower court’s cashless-bail order, he would be released after Monday’s hearing. Federal sources previously told Fox News that Maldonado Soriano is a Mexican national and former DACA recipient whose status expired in August 2026 after it was not renewed.

A judge granted cashless bail to the man accused of damaging the Quantico Iwo Jima statue; he is held until a Monday bond-appeal hearing.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has directly appealed to American voters, inserting itself into the political debate before November’s midterm elections. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is implicitly urging Americans to vote Democratic. The IRGC has been the leading proponent of attacking the USA (the Great Satan) since 1979, with a body count in the thousands. Democrats have not rejected the endorsement.

The IRGC published an open letter urging Americans to reject President Donald Trump’s policies and reconsider Washington’s confrontation with Tehran.

Iranian officials portrayed their appeal as an attempt to communicate directly with Americans rather than influence Washington’s current leadership.

IRGC spokesman Gen. Hossein Mohebbi publicly presented the document during a news conference in Tehran.
