Las escuelas del condado de Winston-Salem / Forsyth se formaron en 1963 con la fusión de los sistemas escolares de Winston-Salem y el condado de Forsyth.

It is the fourth-largest system in North Carolina and the 81st largest in the nation. Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools serves about 54,000 students with the goal of providing a quality education for each child. The school system has 43 elementary schools, 14 middle schools and 15 high schools. Nine special schools bring the system-wide total to 81.

🎉 Celebrating 615 of Our Amazing Multilingual Learners! 🎉

Last Saturday, we celebrated 615 students at our 3rd Annual ESL Program Completion Celebration at Mt. Tabor High School Auditorium! 💙🎓

It was a special day filled with pride, joy, and so much love for our students and all they have accomplished. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our Multilingual Learners and the hard work, growth, and determination that brought them to this milestone!

A HUGE thank-you to everyone who came to celebrate and support our students—from their families and friends to classroom teachers and principals. And a special shout-out to our amazing ESL teachers who volunteered their time to make this event possible. Thank you for showing up not only for your own students but also for students across our entire district! ❤️

It truly takes a village, and we are grateful for the community that surrounds and supports our students every step of the way.

Congratulations to all 615 students! 🌟 Your hard work deserves to be celebrated, and we cannot wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish next!

As we’ve started our walkthroughs across schools, we are seeing SO many great things happening in our ESL/ML classrooms! ❤️

Our students are analyzing their data, reflecting on their learning, and setting goals based on what they see. We’re seeing lessons intentionally connected to both ELD and content standards, with clear learning targets and expectations. You can clearly see how Teacher Clarity is shaping instruction, and, on top of that, the creativity our ESL teachers bring every day to increase student engagement while keeping learning rigorous. 🙌

There is so much thoughtful, intentional work happening in our classrooms, and it is exciting to see it in action! We are so proud of our ESL teachers and the learning environments they are creating for our multilingual learners! 💙 Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools
