🚨 A FEW SPOOKTACULAR SAFETY REMINDERS! 🚨

As our little monsters hit the streets in search of candy, let's make sure the only scares this Halloween are the fun ones!

🔦 Be Seen! Carry flashlights, glow sticks, or wear reflective accessories so drivers can spot you.

🚸 Cross Safely! Use sidewalks and crosswalks whenever possible. Look both ways before crossing and never dart between parked vehicles.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Stick Together! Young children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult. Older kids should travel in groups and have a plan.

🍬 Check That Candy! Parents, inspect your children's treats before they start digging into their Halloween haul.

🚗 Drivers, Slow Down! Watch for excited trick-or-treaters, especially in neighborhoods and near community events. Put the phones down and stay alert!

🏠 Visit Well-Lit Homes! Stay in familiar neighborhoods and never enter a stranger's home or vehicle.

🐾 Don't Forget Your Furry Friends! Keep pets secure and Halloween candy, especially chocolate and anything containing xylitol, out of their reach.

💙🖤 From all of us at the Willis Police Department, we hope everyone has a safe, fun, and BOO-tiful Halloween!

Remember, the only thing we want you collecting this Halloween is CANDY... not citations! 😉🚔🍭

Stay spooky, Willis! 🎃👻

🚌 School is back—and so are the buses!

National School Bus Safety Week and National Teen Driver Safety Week are both underway, making this a good time for every driver to reset a few habits:

🛑 Stop when a school bus displays flashing red lights and its stop arm
🚸 Watch carefully for children near bus stops and school zones
📵 Put the phone away before the vehicle starts moving
💺 Make sure everyone is buckled up
🐢 Slow down and leave extra following distance
⏰ Leave early enough that running late does not become reckless driving

Parents, please remind young drivers that the safest trip is the one where everyone arrives—even if arriving involves hearing, “I told you we should have left earlier.”

Let’s help Willis students and bus drivers begin the week safely.

💙 THANK YOU, WILLIS! 💙

Tuesday’s National Night Out was a wonderful reminder of what makes our community special! Thank you to everyone who joined us, spent time with our officers, and helped make the evening a success. 🚔

A big thank-you to our vendors and community partners, Kroger for hosting us in their parking lot, and Willis Public Works for their hard work and support!

And a DOUBLE BIG SHOUT-OUT to the Willis High School CTE Law Enforcement Cadets! 👏👏 These cadets went above and beyond throughout the entire event and stayed to help with cleanup. Your willingness to serve and pitch in did not go unnoticed—we appreciate each of you!

From the first hello to the last piece of trash picked up, this event took a team, and we’re grateful for ours. Thank you for showing up for Willis! 💙

💗🚔 Willis PD is rolling into National Night Out with a little extra PINK!

We’re excited to show off our Breast Cancer Awareness Tahoe tonight! Special thanks to Daniel Herminghaus at The Custom Sign & Graphic Haus for donating the graphics. Stop by, snap a picture, and say hello to your Willis Police Department crew.

Those pink ribbons carry a powerful message: we stand with those fighting breast cancer, celebrate survivors, and honor those we’ve lost. 💕

Come for the community fun, stay for the photo op! See y’all tonight! 💙

🩷💜 October: Two Causes, One Caring Community 💜🩷

The Willis Police Department joins our community in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

🩷 We honor those affected by breast cancer, celebrate survivors, support those facing treatment, and remember the loved ones we have lost.

💜 We stand with survivors of domestic violence and those still seeking safety. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported. You are not alone.

Behind every ribbon is a person, a family, and a story. This October—and throughout the year—let’s lead with compassion, look out for one another, and keep these conversations going. 💙🚔
