🚨 WILLACOOCHEE POLICE DEPARTMENT — TRAFFIC SAFETY NOTICE 🚨

📍 Hwy 82 & Hwy 135 South

The Willacoochee Police Department is sharing these photos as a reminder of why traffic enforcement at stop signs is so important.

Our department has increased enforcement at this intersection due to the importance of obeying traffic control devices and ensuring the safety of everyone traveling through our community.

We understand that not everyone agrees with increased enforcement, and we recognize that receiving a citation can be frustrating. However, stop signs are not optional. They are in place to help prevent serious crashes, injuries, and loss of life.

🚔 One missed stop can have life-changing consequences.

As these accident photos remind us, roadway safety must be taken seriously. We encourage every driver to:
🔹 Come to a complete stop at posted stop signs.
🔹 Look carefully for oncoming traffic before proceeding.
🔹 Remain alert and avoid distractions.
🔹 Drive defensively and obey all posted traffic controls.

Our goal is not simply to write citations. Our goal is to prevent accidents, protect lives, and make our roads safer for everyone.

Please slow down, stop completely, and make safe decisions behind the wheel. A few extra seconds at an intersection can make all the difference.

Thank you to the citizens who support our efforts to keep our community safe.

Serving and protecting our community.
