Our East Ridge Health Science 8th graders had the incredible opportunity to learn from Tiffany Sanchez, Simulation Technician at Carson-Newman University, this week!
Students got to experience what it’s like to work in healthcare by practicing how to assess heart, lung, and bowel sounds, palpate various pulse sites and perform chest compressions.
They also explored a “terror room,” where they identified safety concerns and things that should never be present in a patient’s room. This activity helped them learn the importance of patient safety and maintaining a safe healthcare environment.
We are so thankful to Tiffany Sanchez and Carson-Newman University for providing this incredible opportunity for our future healthcare professionals! 👏
