Well folks they sneaked it past everyone. The opioid abatement case that Joey haun filled was to be heard today starting at 10. Questioning of Bill Britton and Chris Cutshaw was today. This is over the public not being notified about meetings, the contract between the city and the county for the city to give their 250,000 to the county, but hasn't and they have had it since 2024 and no one noticed till Joey brought this case. So folks you elected this back in.

Folks, the budget meeting for non profits was held today at the courthouse. This was open to the public but I am not sure if it was made public. You better sit down and watch it. Cause the only way this budget will be covered is to amend the property taxes and raise it again. This will probably happen in June or July before the new commission is seated. But those of you who didn't want a change I hope you realize what has been done. I don't understand why these non profits can't do fund raises to get their extra funds. Some do. I believe there should be accounts set up for each and every place we give money to so it can be better accounted for and if they get spend happy they don't get anymore.

I want folks to know I may have lost the battle, but I haven't lost the fight. I am going to continue to fight for what I believe is right. I am still going to make stuff known that I think will affect your household. So if you have questions you need answered or concerns let me know and I will do my best to have it heard. The commission may not like it but folks some of you are tired of being taken advantage of. I don't know about you but I am tired of feeling like a mushroom fed s**t and kept in the dark. So I will keep this page going.

I want to thank everyone that voted for me. We didn't win but I feel I am a big winner for all the wonderful people I have met along the way. I just followed my momma's advice don't sit and complain about things if you aren't going to try and change it.

I acknowledge that I may not appeal to everyone, and that is perfectly fine. My upbringing by a strong and independent woman has taught me the importance of resilience and determination. Witnessing my mother's efforts to make ends meet by working multiple jobs, collecting cans, and taking in sewing has had a profound impact on my worldview. As a result, I believe in advocating for the underdog and promoting fairness. I am committed to expressing my opinions, supporting those who feel marginalized, and ensuring that individuals have a say in how their money is spent. I trust that my path is guided by a higher power. Rather than making assumptions about my beliefs or values, I encourage others to engage in respectful and open-minded dialogue. Unfortunately, some individuals have formed opinions about me based on limited interactions. As someone who is self-funding their campaign, I am committed to transparency and accountability. I am also dedicated to improving the treatment of the public in county commission meetings and promoting responsible spending.

I am sharing my concerns with you. Following the primary election, some individuals may not secure their desired positions. Are you worried about the potential actions they may take before their terms expire in September? Some people can be quite vindictive. I hope this does not occur, but I have witnessed similar behavior from past commissioners. Thus, it is crucial that we closely monitor the situation. Does this concern you? I am afraid that certain decisions may be made that could harm the community. Just a thought.

I feel it is necessary to address the unprofessional conduct displayed at the County Commission meeting tonight. I urge everyone to view the meeting on YouTube. The treatment of audience members and the speaker at the podium was disappointing. A professional meeting should maintain respect and decorum for all attendees. Some commissioners' behavior, in my opinion, was excessively accommodating to a particular individual. Although I recognize this person's community contributions, the treatment of others was unacceptable. I strongly believe that this matter requires community input and a vote, especially considering the potential environmental consequences of another Nolichucky flood. The interests of Hamblen County should be protected.

If I am elected, my decisions will be guided solely by the interests of my constituents, without any financial obligations to donors. In my opinion, it is crucial to recognize that campaign contributions can create conflicts of interest. I want the residents of my district to know that I am not beholden to special interests and that my votes will prioritize the well-being of our community. I firmly believe that we must protect our agricultural land and preserve the ecosystem, rather than sacrificing them for the sake of development. It is essential that we support our local farmers and promote sustainable practices. Once we have depleted our natural resources, financial gains will be of little value.
